Microsoft’s design was previously a stylized depiction of fog, featuring three, wavy lines, as was Google’s previous design. Samsung’s fog previously resembled three clouds. Twitter’s design previously resembled its ? Foggy emoji, showing fog obscuring the Golden Gate Bridge.
Fog was approved as part of Unicode 7.0 in 2014 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
