Samsung previously depicted a childlike character with red hair and horns, fangs, and black wings. Earlier designs from Google featured an orangish-red character with blue hair and wings.
Angry Face with Horns was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 under the name “Imp” and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
